Just for Fun

I’ve never been a very competitive person. It’s not that I’m not good at things, because I am. I just don’t get a big kick out of being better than other people at things. In fact, I tend to let other people win if I think they’ll really feel bad about losing. My favorite sport is definitely baseball. It has an old and friendly feel to it. It has a calm and gentlemanly pace. Although I’m not particularly competitive, I do like to keep physically fit, and baseball is a surprisingly good exercise. Batting, for example, uses all the core body muscles, and not just the arms, like some people think. This is one reason I like spending time in baseball cages Tampa FL, where I live. When I train in a Florida baseball academy, I spend as much time honing hand-eye coordination, agility, and speed as strength and endurance. Since my daughter could barely walk, she’s enjoyed spending time with me playing catch. We watch baseball together, and argue about stats and trades. I like the idea that sending her to a Florida baseball camp makes her think sharper and react quicker, as well as promoting the traditional dimensions of fitness. Baseball requires fast and smart decisions.
